While you'll need an initial investment of around 20 to 30 Corrupted Roots, don't worry—this farm eventually pays for itself. Once the loop is running, you'll recover enough Corrupted Roots through rewards to keep farming indefinitely.

Once you've found the correct Nightmare Dungeon, preparation becomes critical.

Clear the entire dungeon while intentionally leaving the final boss alive. Every enemy should be eliminated except for the boss encounter.

Players using Subo as their active mercenary gain a significant advantage here because enemy positions remain visible on the map, making full clears much faster.

Equally important: ignore every shrine you find.

Do not activate them.

Those shrines are about to become the most valuable part of the entire farm.

Corrupted Roots: The Key to Unlocking Endless XP

Now comes the fun part.

Begin activating Corrupted Roots inside the prepared Nightmare Dungeon. Each use has a chance to spawn different encounters, but you're specifically hunting for a Headrotten Boss.

Unfortunately, the boss doesn't appear every time.

Sometimes you'll get weak zombies or elite enemies instead. If that happens, simply eliminate them and try again.

Normally, Corrupted Roots have a cooldown after activation. However, teleporting back to town and returning to the dungeon bypasses much of the waiting process, allowing you to cycle through attempts far more quickly.

Keep going until the Headrotten Boss finally appears.

This single enemy is what turns the entire strategy into an XP-generating machine.

The Boss Duplication Setup Most Players Haven't Discovered

After spawning the Headrotten Boss, eliminate every other enemy that appeared alongside it.

Leave the boss alive.

Instead of killing it immediately, return to town and then re-enter the dungeon. This simple step resets the monster pool that upcoming shrine interactions will reference.

Once you return, defeat the Headrotten Boss and collect any rewards.

Now head directly toward the nearest untouched shrine.

What happens next is where the strategy truly becomes absurd.

Turn One Boss Into Seven Bosses With This Shrine Interaction

Thanks to the Nemesis War Plan node, activating a shrine can spawn copies of recently defeated enemies.

Since you just defeated a Headrotten Boss, the shrine can create anywhere from one to seven additional copies of that same boss.

Each copy drops loot.

Each copy drops rewards.

And most importantly, each copy drops a guaranteed Whisper Cache.
